With COVID cases are still regularly occurring, especially in association with travel, SSI is also adopting the current SLAC Health Department COVID guidance to ensure the safe operation of SSI.
Frequently hand washing is encouraged, especailly prior to eating.
In case of suspicious COVID-like symptoms,
- Stay away for meeting venue
- Contact SSI admin ssi@slac.stanford.edu to inform your situation.
- Perform self-instigated rapid antigen test (check with SSI admin for where to obtain test kit and masks if you did not bring one) while staying away from SSI venue:
- If you have COVID-like symptoms, and test negative, monitor symptoms until symptom free and no fever for 24hrs, take another COVID test. If still negative, you may return to SSI venue.
- If you have COVID-like symptoms, and tested positive. Monitor symptoms until symptom free without fever for 24hs. then test again. If negative you may return to SSI venue. You must wear a mask while around people indoors or outdoors, except when eating/drinking.
- Can return to SSI venue on Day 6 even if still COVID positive, as long as feeling better and symptom-free without fever for 24hrs. Must wear a mask around people.
- Note on masks: Preferably wear a KN95, KF94 or N95. mask. Surgical masks are acceptable but do not provide the same level of personnel protection.
