Description

Leveraging Fontana’s proposal for using high temperature superconductors as quantum sources of gravitational waves, an experiment is proposed to provide for the stimulated emission of gravitational waves using thin film superconducting devices. The proposal suggests that Josephson Junctions with dissimilar superconductors, an s-wave joined to a d-wave, can force spin 2 transitions, triggering the emission of gravitational waves. These types of Josephson Junctions may also be used for the detection of spin 2 transitions, thus enabling the detection of high frequency gravitational waves, opening an entirely new spectrum of gravitational wave astronomy.
