Description

The nEXO experiment developing a neutrinoless double beta decay search in liquid xenon enriched in 136Xe. nEXO is being designed to have extremely low background near the Q0νββ value (2457 keV) to maximize its sensitivity to this rare decay. Many assay techniques are used to find the lowest background materials possible for nEXOs construction including underground Ge, NAA, ICP-MS, Rn counting ESCs, and others. This talk will summarize the nEXO radioactive background control program and these techniques.
