Description

Physical observables are invariant under field redefinition, but the effective field theory (EFT) Lagrangian is not. Focusing on the derivation of the renormalization group equations, we will see in the first part of this talk, how the geometric interpretation of EFTs makes this invariance manifest at every step of the calculation. We will present a unified geometric framework including scalars, gauge bosons, and fermions. In the second part, we will explain the origin of infinities arising in the two-loop field anomalous dimension due to the use of field redefinitions in the renormalization procedure.
