Description
The matter-antimatter asymmetry is one of many open problems in particle physics today. A potential resolution lies in the neutrino sector, as the neutrino mass may be Majorana in nature. The observation of neutrinoless double-beta (0νββ) decay would indicate the Majorana nature of the neutrino and provide a window into physics beyond the Standard Model. The CUORE experiment is conducting a world-leading search for 0νββ decay of 130Te using a tonne-scale segmented cryogenic calorimeter operated at ~ 15 mK. In this presentation, I will provide an overview of 0νββ decay and describe the CUORE cryogenic infrastructure and the technological achievements therein. I will then discuss the results from CUORE's latest 0νββ decay analysis with 2 tonne-years of exposure.
