Description
Millions of top quarks have been produced in the first LHC run. While most top quarks are produced via strong interactions, the large statistics enabled the study of single top production via electroweak interactions. In this seminar the results of these studies will be reported using the data collected by the CMS detector at 7 and 8TeV. The single top production cross sections for all the electroweak production modes are presented with particular emphasis on the first observation of the W associated single top production.
