The study of color-coherence violation (CCV) in scattering processes at hadron colliders has emerged as a fascinating frontier of collider physics. CCV arises from Glauber-gluon exchange between the initial-state hard partons and leads to a non-universality—that is, process dependence—of spacelike splitting functions, potentially jeopardizing PDF factorization at high orders in perturbation theory. For LHC jet processes, we show how perturbative Glauber gluons restore PDF factorization below the jet veto scale. At the same time, Glauber dynamics gives rise to new types of large double-logarithmic corrections, known as “super-leading” and “coherence-violating” logarithms, as well as to a modified DGLAP evolution at high energies.
