DESCRIPTION:Charge-Parity violation (CPV) plays a fundamental role in mode
rn physics. It was first experimentally discovered in kaon decays in 1964
at BNL. The underlying mechanism was established only in the 2000s\, when
the Kobayashi-Maskawa theory (1973) was verified through studies of B meso
ns at the Belle and BaBar experiments.\nIn the charm sector\, however\, th
e Standard Model predicts that CPV should be very small. The first observa
tion of CP violation in charm decays was reported only recently\, in 2019
by the LHCb experiment. CPV in charm decays thus serves as a sensitive pro
be for new physics\, particularly if the observed violation exceeds predic
tions from the Kobayashi-Maskawa mechanism.\nIn this talk\, I will present
two analyses of CP violation in charm decays using data collected by the
Belle II experiment\, conducted by me and my collaborators. I will also hi
ghlight our detector R&D efforts aimed at supporting and enhancing the pre
 cision of these measurements.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://stanfor
